Want a FREE Personal Assistant?

We tend to forget that Gratitude is something we pay too  little attention to unless we’re feeling desperate.  When will we realize that it’s the one FREE  ingredient that makes everything better, and the only thing one can never over-use!

In these excessively stressful times, who couldn’t use their own personal assistant?  (I often needs someone just to find my keys!) Even our kids need assistance just organizing their crazy schedules (ASD, Neuro-typical or otherwise)- so, why not use your surroundings to assist you in your daily goals?  What do I mean, well, if you’re clear about the functions you wish to accomplish in every room of your home, than why not set it up to accomplish rather than simply look “pretty?”   An “assistive technology” if you will.  Whenever possible, choose your lighting first and then select colors,(avoid florescent at all costs, soft and natural is always best) regardless of whether it’s paint, furniture, pictures etc… everything looks different in varied lighting.   Now that you have more optimal lighting, the colors your surround yourself with will also look different. Whenever possible, choose your proper lighting first and then select colors, regardless of whether it’s paint, furniture, pictures etc…everything looks different in varied lighting.
1. Look at and consider your space. Less is typically always more. Make certain that your environment begins with movement, flow, open pathways. Consider locating and maintaining multi-purpose furniture, shelving etc… don’t shy away from being uniquely creative!  Recycle as often as possible, turn an old tarnished mirror into a perfume or make-up tray, re-cover your chair seats with foam, fabric and a fabric stapler, use old wood pieces for new shelving, or a custom shaped table frame. Create before you dispose or purchase – your wallet and your newly found pride in your “green” contribution toward the environment will thank you!
2. Scent.  How important is it?  VERY.  If I simply close my eyes, the scent of cinnamon, apples and vanilla come right into my nose as if it were Thanksgiving regardless what time of year it is because it’s sooo pure and the memories trigger the scent. That’s
why incense, candles and even scented body washes and baths are such huge money makers – scent brings about memory and vice-versa.One of the many jobs of a “personal assistant” is to make our lives easier, which helps us relax, (at least a little), and function at
our best. In combination with the aforementioned suggestions, surrounding yourself with scents that support the type of feeling
and behavior you want to establish in a specific space throughout your day make a huge difference, especially in terms of your
ability to accomplish your goals with a sense of confidence, focus and ease.
Try some of these little fixes, they pack a big punch and let me know how they work for YOU!
